Property damage never waits for a convenient time.
When your clients need you on site immediately, The Restoration Estimator is ready to start writing the moment you send your file. Here is how the process runs for our two most common estimate types.
1. Kickoff. When demolition and drying wrap up, the rebuild scope begins. Reconstruction estimates are priced on a tiered flat-fee schedule based on the size of the scope we write, with payment terms set during your initial consultation. We can also accommodate estimates for general construction or remodel, as well as demo.
2. Your walkthrough. You walk the property and send us the essentials: a sketch with full dimensions, photos, the line items the rebuild requires, and the quantities and material grades involved.
3. We write the scope. With your documentation in hand, we draft a complete reconstruction estimate that reflects how the work will actually be built.
4. Your approval. The draft comes to you first. Nothing goes to the carrier until you have reviewed it and signed off.
5. Submission and negotiation. We deliver the approved estimate to the insurance adjuster, work through any requested revisions, and push until the final scope is accepted so the carrier can release payment for your project.

Water Mitigation
1. Initial consultation. We start with a quick conversation about your job and your volume. Mitigation scopes are billed at a flat rate per estimate, and we will work out a payment schedule that fits how many files you plan to send.
2. You send the documentation. Pre-demo and post-demo photos of every affected room, moisture readings, and your sketch or measurements. Include any written scope you have prepared or a completed scope sheet (available for download on the Resources tab of our site), along with a DocuSketch if one is available. For jobs inside our local service area, we can skip the photo handoff entirely and walk the property ourselves.
3. First draft. We build the initial Xactimate scope from your documentation or our on-site assessment and send it your way.
4. Final estimate. Once your equipment is pulled and the drying logs are complete, we finalize the scope and submit it directly to the insurance adjuster for review.
5. Revisions and negotiation. If the adjuster pushes back, we handle it. We make the requested revisions, defend the line items, and negotiate on your behalf until the estimate is approved.
Mold Remediation
1. Initial consultation. We discuss the project and your volume, and set a flat per-scope rate with payment terms that match how you work.
2. You send the documentation. Mold scopes require less paperwork than most. We only need three things from you: the mold protocol or scope of work, photos of the affected areas, and a sketch of the space. A DocuSketch works as well if you have one.
3. We write the scope. Using your protocol and documentation, we build a complete Xactimate estimate covering containment, filtration, removal, and cleaning, itemized to industry remediation standards.
4. Your review. The draft comes to you for approval. Once you are satisfied, the finished estimate is yours to present to your client.
5. Revisions. If the project changes or anything needs adjusting, we revise the estimate until it accurately reflects the work, with no cap on revisions.
A note on payment. Mold remediation projects are most often paid for directly by the property owner. With that in mind, we write remediation estimates to be clear, thoroughly documented, and easy for your client to read, so the value of the work is obvious and approval comes faster. Microbial growth within “plain view” tends to not be covered by insurance. There are However; some exceptions. Please call or email us if you have questions regarding coverage.
